Seward, Nebraska is located in the southeastern part of the state, 25 miles west of Lincoln.

| The city of Seward, with
a population just over 6,000, is located 25 miles west of Nebraska's
capital city of Lincoln. It grew from the 1867 prairie settlement
on a bend of the Blue River, to become the seat of government for
the current 16,000 county residents. |
| Seward, recognized as
America's Small Town 4th of July City, hosts the state of Nebraska
in an old-fashioned family celebration each July 4. The observance
is unique in that major leadership is provided by high school youth.
This even adds new attractions each year and draws upward of 40,000
people. It has been televised nationally on numerous occasions. |
| Priamary health care is
available in Seward through Memorial Health Care Systems, a not-for-profit,
community-governed, comprehensive health care provider. |
| Whether it is artwork in the Marxhausen gallery at Concordia University,
a summer concert at the historic bandshell, or the Seawrd Country
Historical Society Museum, Seward offers a wide variety of cultural
activities. |
| Seward has beautiful parks, and a new sports complex which include
four baseball/softball fields and a soccer complex. Also offered are
strong recreational programs, as well as a unique round swimming pool,
a private nine hole golf course, an indoor pool and gymnasium facilities
provided by the Seward Public Schools and Concordia University for
year round activities. |
| Nearly every major religious denomination is represented in Seward
County's curches. Pastors provide leadership beyond their own congregations
in close coordination with local professors. |
| The Seward area is served by a K-12 public school district, as well
as a K-8 parochial school, with students from both systems excelling
in academics and extracurricular activities. Concordia University,
a four-year Lutheran university, offers degree completion among other
programs that are offered. |
| Anchoring the downtown district is the historic Seward County Courthouse,
a landmark that retains the old-fashioned feel of the downtown area
while providing ample space for farmers' markets and community events
that keep residents and visitors hopping. |
| Come see Seward's Christmas Light Display in Centennial Park featuring
Cradick's Country Christmas Lights, Ayars Family Display and Christmas
Entertainment scheduled weekly. This wonderland of lights is open
Thanksgiving Day through December 26th. |
